Delivering Measurable Impact for Local Authorities

The best way to demonstrate the value of organisational sustainability is through results.

Game Changed Network CIC has developed a proven model that helps local authorities strengthen their youth sector by supporting charities, CICs and voluntary organisations to become more resilient, better governed and financially sustainable.

Youth & Community Funding Generator

In 2025, Doncaster City Council commissioned Game Changed Network CIC to deliver the Youth & Community Funding Generator, providing practical organisational development support to youth organisations across the city.

Rather than providing grants directly, the programme focused on increasing organisations’ capacity to attract external funding and strengthen their governance.

This included:

  • Funding strategy and bid writing
  • Governance advice
  • Safeguarding and organisational policies
  • Financial forecasting
  • Risk management
  • Ongoing mentoring and organisational development

The programme has enabled organisations to become more sustainable while bringing significant external investment into Doncaster.

Results

Year One (2025)

  • 15 organisations supported
  • 68 funding applications submitted
  • £210,526 secured

Funding supported:

  • Mental health services
  • Youth activities
  • Sports provision
  • Community facilities
  • Workforce development
  • Core organisational costs

Year Two (April–July 2026)

Already achieved:

  • 31 organisations supported
  • £53,186 secured
  • £352,041 currently awaiting funding decisions

Funding has already supported:

  • Equipment purchases
  • Youth sports programmes
  • Creative arts
  • Mental health projects
  • Community wellbeing initiatives

Long-Term Impact

The programme is forecast to secure:

  • £300,000 in external funding by Year Three
  • More than £500,000 by the end of Year Four

More importantly, organisations are now stronger, more resilient and better equipped to secure funding independently in the future.

Partner Feedback

“The support Amie and Game Changed Network have provided to the Doncaster Youth Partnership has been invaluable. Without their help in finding funding opportunities, VCFS groups in Doncaster might not be able to continue providing a safe setting for young people.”

Local Youth Transformation Pilot

Following the success of the Doncaster model, Game Changed Network CIC has been commissioned by Peterborough City Council to provide organisational development support as part of the Local Youth Transformation Pilot.

The programme aims to strengthen youth organisations by improving their ability to secure funding, strengthen governance and build long-term sustainability.

Support includes:

  • Funding strategy
  • Bid writing
  • Safeguarding policies
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policies
  • Health & Safety policies
  • Risk assessments
  • Financial forecasting
  • Ongoing organisational support

This partnership demonstrates the confidence local authorities have in our proven approach and marks the expansion of our model into new areas.
